I have been looking forward to reading this book since it came out! I have had it sitting on my kindle but have been so swamped with ARC's and life in general so when I found I had a day to myself I decided it was time for a readathon, since I had 2 novels and a novella from this series to read! I needed something to read that was going to suck me in take me a long for the ride! And Ms. Conley did just that! I always look forward to reading her books because she writes about real people with real life problems. She always writes a strong alpha man but does not give us a whiney, weak heroine, she give us a strong female with backbone and grit but still has a soft, sensitive passionate side that our alpha male absolutely cannot resist! The story-line is real and definitely believable and flows so nicely. Not once did it ever feel forced, nor did it ever stall out. The character development in this series and this book especially, is stellar! I can connect so well with the characters, it's almost like they are friends. She does an amazing job slipping secondary characters into the mix and tell us just enough about them to make us want more and then we sit back with our fingers crossed hoping that there is a story-line in the future for them! And as I said, Ms. Conley never fails to deliver.
I can't believe all the good reviews for this book. I wish someone would have wrote in their review Mia is raped! Not to mention how many times the "f" word is used. Wasted about an hour & a half to 53% when that happened. Not my kind of book. Deleted it from my kindle!
Jordan is no different. He finds live when he is not expecting it. Mia finds herself living across from Jordan. The she is kidnapped and he must find her. Mia suffers quite a bit of trauma during her time in captivity. Will Jordan come to her rescue and will they get their happily ever after? Of course they will but you have to read the story to find out about their rocky road to their HEA. Looking forward to more Pierce Securities hunky heroes😉
This book should have a trigger warning label. So far I’ve liked this series but it was difficult for me to get into this book. There’s a rape happen in the story and what happens between Jordan and Mia is not likely at all. I just can’t see a rape victim wanting to be intimate right after three days of being assulted. The mind can’t heal that fast. I’m not finished reading this yet so I’ll update my review when I’m done.
First off, let me say after reading a scene from this book, I have a much higher appreciation for tequila. Jordan is smoking hot, ex-military man who isn't happy with the way his life is heading. Mia is a sultry, hardworking, optimist, with a good heart. When the two of them think they could turn a friendship into a casual fling, sparks fly. When Mia is unexpectedly ripped from him, Jordan will do anything to get her back.

I loved this book and seeing all of the men of the Pierce Securities again!
This story is about people who had trouble backgrounds and who are trying to find themselves. Some of them are looking to improve their lives after being released from the service like Jordan after a injury and others from dysfunctional families where the mother is constantly looking for love through multiple marriages and not taking into consideration the affects it has on her daughters like Mia and Rose. And then there is the deviant who is looking from love from his half sister and she doesn't look at him the same. There is death and neglect all through this story and then there is camaraderie and love that is found.
